Your mental health can either make or break you. Having sound mental health emotionally and psychologically is very important towards achieving overall wellness and wellbeing. Your mood and behavior can impact your health positively or negatively depending on how much effort you make to achieve self-care through daily exercising routine habits.
Lack of regular exercise can promote the risk of or worsen the development of mental health problems such as insomnia, depression, anxiety, mood swings, and stress. Exercise is very important for overall human health as it improves the body’s ability to utilize oxygen and increases muscular strength.
Regular exercises benefit your overall mental health as they play an important role by positively impacting depression, anxiety, and other mood changes. Evidence has shown that exercises improve memory, relieve stress, and promote a good sleep pattern. It is recommended that 15-30 minutes be spent on exercises 3-5 days a week as it has been shown to help release beneficial chemicals in the brain such as endorphins which help energize and promote your overall mood.
Not only can engaging in regular exercises boost your mood, but it can also promote a sharper memory and thinking, improve your overall self-esteem, increase your energy level, and help you build a stronger resilience mentally and emotionally.
